If you read Voice
You can read the publication, share links to specific essays, and quote excerpts of up to 200 words with credit. You can't republish whole essays elsewhere without our written permission.
If you become a member
Membership is month-to-month or annual. You can cancel at any time. Refund policy: full refund within 14 days of joining; pro-rated refund for annual memberships if you cancel after that. Membership benefits are personal — please don't share login credentials.
If you write for Voice
Rights
You retain copyright to your work. By accepting publication, you grant Voice first publication rights and a six-month exclusive (meaning you don't publish the same piece elsewhere in those six months). After six months you can republish anywhere, with a note that the piece first appeared in Voice.
Payment
We pay on acceptance, not on publication. Rates are listed in the pitch guidelines. Standard payment is by bank transfer or Wise, 14 days after the signed agreement.
Editorial process
Every piece is edited by a human editor — sometimes lightly, sometimes through three rounds. You see and sign off on the final draft. We don't publish without your approval. Voice does not use AI to draft or modify editorial content.
AI disclosure
You confirm that the work you submit is yours alone — no AI-generated text. You may use AI for spelling, grammar, transcript cleaning, or accessibility (alt text drafting). You may not use AI to draft, "improve," or substantively edit your essay's content. Misrepresentation here voids the agreement.
Anonymous and pseudonymous publication
Anonymous submissions are welcome. Only the editor-in-chief sees your real identity. We don't reveal it without your explicit permission, even under subpoena unless legally compelled.
If you comment
Member comments are moderated. We remove comments that are abusive, harassing, off-topic, or that publish someone else's private information. Repeated violations end membership without refund.
If something goes wrong
Voice is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the site up and the publication consistent, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. If you find a bug, a typo, or a quote you think we misattributed, email corrections@voice.tygrauniverse.com — we publish corrections promptly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction TBD before launch]. Any disputes will be resolved in [jurisdiction TBD] courts. This will be finalised with our legal counsel before public launch.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we'll note the new "last updated" date at the top and email members about substantive changes.
