Privacy

What we collect, what we don't, and what your rights are.

The short version

What data we collect

If you read the site

Plausible analytics records anonymous pageviews — page URL, country, referrer, browser. No IP addresses are stored, no cookies are set for tracking. We use this to understand which essays land, not to identify you.

If you subscribe to the newsletter

We store your email address and the date you subscribed. We use Resend to send the newsletter and Resend's privacy policy applies. We don't store any other personal data unless you provide it.

If you become a member

We store your email, name (optional), and member tier. Stripe stores payment information. We do not see your full card number; only the last four digits, for billing display.

If you pitch or submit a piece

We store your name (or pseudonym), email, and the content of your submission until editorial decisions are made. Rejected pieces are deleted after 90 days. Accepted pieces are archived with the published article.

If you submit anonymously

Only the editor-in-chief sees the email address associated with anonymous submissions. We do not publish identifying information without explicit consent.
